Salary Range: $30,921-$47,931
This position provides security to and control of key access points at the courthouse and other facilities and to monitor and control inmate movement through the County detention facility.
- Provides security in the jail and courthouse; observes and screens all persons entering the court building; operates metal detectors; allows or denies access; and conducts daily security search of interior and exterior of premises.
- Monitors inmates in County detention facility; monitors video feeds and security cameras; controls movements of inmates throughout facility; grants/denies access; locks/unlocks doors via control room console; advises supervisor of any problems or emergencies; and maintains related documentation.
- Provides information and assistance via phone or in person; directs visitors to appropriate staff and/or building locations; explains policies and procedures; and answers questions.
- Maintains security equipment, such as panic alarms, metal detectors, security locks, radio equipment, etc.; conducts routine testing and calibration for equipment; monitors equipment operations to maintain efficiency and safety; and reports faulty equipment for necessary maintenance work.
High school diploma or GED required; one year of experience in customer service, security or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. The minimum age requirement is 18 years old.
