MANN GETS TOP AWARDS
AT LAW ENFORCEMENT GRADUATION
Jeffrey L. Mann, chief of staff at the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, completed basic law enforcement training and graduated from the Fulton County Public Safety Training Center Friday, March 17, 2006. Mann finished with top academic honors, receiving recognition for scholastic excellence in Basic Mandate Class 2006-05. He also received the “Top Driver” Award for best overall performance during the Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC).
Mann served nearly eight years as an assistant county attorney before transferring to the Sheriff's Office in September 2001 to serve as director of labor relations and legal affairs. Beginning November 1, 2004, he was promoted to the position of chief of staff, which is second in command to the sheriff. With official Police Officer Standards and Training (POST) Council certification, he now assumes the official title of chief deputy.
Mann holds a law degree from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Illinois.
